Who We Are

Built for Filipino Seafarers,
Recognized Worldwide

Renaissance Training Center, Inc. (RTC) was founded in early 2011 by a group of maritime experts who dedicated their professional careers to raising the standards of maritime education in the Philippines. The word "Renaissance" was chosen deliberately — it means resurgence of learning, a name inspired by the 9th Resolution of the Manila Conference, which called for the revision of existing IMO Model Courses and the development of new ones.

RTC was established in direct response to the sweeping changes introduced by the STCW Manila Amendments, providing seafarers with the training upgrades and solutions the evolving maritime industry demanded. From the beginning, our founding members envisioned a center built not just to comply with new regulations — but to lead in shaping how Filipino seafarers meet them.

Today, as a MARINA-accredited and ISO 9001:2015-certified institution, we have trained thousands of Filipino seafarers — from ratings to officers — equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and internationally recognized certification required for service aboard vessels worldwide. Our instructors are experienced maritime professionals, and our facilities meet or exceed STCW Convention requirements.

Our Vision

To lead in the resurgence of maritime training efficiency — producing globally competitive, safety-conscious Filipino seafarers.

Our Mission

To provide quality, relevant, and responsive maritime training that meets international standards and the evolving needs of the maritime industry.

Quality Policy

RTC is committed to continual improvement and compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, and STCW requirements through a culture of excellence.
